That little nudge, just before you see the light, the nudge of the in-between, when your dreams still hold you in a warm embrace. But, your mind begins to place you in the real world with noise and problems, the nudge is not done with you yet. Your dreams of a simpler time, a better time, a time when the rabbits were in the fields, and the birds were in the trees, and your sister Sara was always smiling and hugging you? Do you want that little in-between back? Sure you do! So, you turn over, ignore the clock, pull the blanket over your head, clench your eyes shut, with a determination of holding the nudge at bay, just a little longer. But, you can’t hold it, you can’t hold the in-between. So, instead you remember the Christmas when you were 7 and Sara was just a little one, and your Ma still had her hair and her smile, and your Pa still had his pipe. Stay there, stay as long as you can. Stay, with your first love, shy looks, gentle hands and lost words. But, then your mind has to move away from the in-between because you have duties, you have bills, you have worries, and you have little ones that need you right now. But, isn’t it wonderful, in the wee hours, when you are not responsible, when you are not in charge, just to remember that little nudge of the in-between? Closing your eyes for the day, are you not looking for the in-between? Close them now. Feel the warmth. Feel the in-between.

I embrace an eclectic life, tastes, and friends. I love to listen to people - to induce talking about their past. Sometimes, their voices end up in my writing. For grammar perfectionists, allow me to apologize in advance, as I write for the casual reader, not the professional readers. My passions include my family, music, working in electronics, mechanics, stone, and concrete. Better to know a little bit about everything than everything about one thing. Quote from Pascal.
